Practice Owner and Clinical Director

At Heart and Soul Insights, we are passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families find peace, contentment, and joy in their life . With each person who comes through our doors, we are intentional about sowing seeds of healing, hope, and connection.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and hold licenses in Missouri and Texas. I enjoy working with adults of all ages and am honored to hold space for others recovering from depression, anxiety, addiction, and mood dysregulation. I have training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma Informed Therapies (such as EMDR, IFS, inner child healing) as well as Mindfulness and Meditation. I also enjoy supporting parents and family members of persons who struggle with mental health challenges. I use an integrated approach so that I meet you where you are and focus on those areas of healing that you want to focus on!

Family dysfunction impacted my development, and I did not learn effective ways to cope. I am grateful that I sought help and have now been in recovery 36 years. I believe that because of my own challenges, I have seen how addiction can negatively impact families and our communities and I am invested in helping others heal from the impact addiction has had on their lives.

Merriam-Webster defines sacred as “entitled to reverence and respect”. In our work together, I will be present with you and offer respect, kindness, compassion. and curiosity so that I can encourage you on your journey. By sharing practices of forgiveness, self-compassion, and self awareness I help others grow deeper in their awareness so that they can live their life as the spiritual beings they are created to be. I will learn, laugh, and cry with you as you explore how you want to show up in your life.

In my free time I enjoy reading, baking, hanging out with my dogs and cat, spending time with friends and family, and connecting to my spiritual nature by spending time in nature. I’m grateful to those who have guided and supported me on my spiritual journey and look forward to “paying it forward” by being a part of your  journey!

I am a counseling intern currently pursuing my graduate degree in Counseling Psychology at Avila University. I work with individuals aged 13+, couples, and families. My areas of interest include OCD, anxiety, depression, life stressors, relationship challenges, and healing from childhood trauma. I strive to create a safe space for people to feel comfortable and open to sharing their life experiences and struggles.

I utilize Exposure and Response Prevention, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as trauma-focused modalities like Internal Family Systems. My style is more direct, open, and curious. I like to be real and honest with my clients while also welcoming humor and light-heartedness into the mix.

I went into counseling because as a teenager, I needed an understanding and empathetic adult to listen to me. Now as a counselor, I can be that adult for others who need it. I have had OCD and anxiety my entire life, so I know how hard it can be to open up and be vulnerable with someone; I hope to be the person who you can trust with your struggles.

I’m someone who likes to keep it real while appreciating the lighter side of life through my sense of humor. When not in session or classes, I enjoy baking, reading, playing video games, listening to music, and taking care of my two fluffy dogs!

I offer a safe space to explore the uncomfortable parts of life. Therapy can be challenging, but it’s in the discomfort that growth and healing begin.

I am a counseling intern currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Avila University. I work with individuals, couples, and families, and have expertise in working with 16-30 age range.

My areas of focus include men’s mental health, emotional health, anxiety and stress, identity development, and life transitions such as career changes, relationship challenges, and personal growth. I take a holistic approach, looking at the connection between mental, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual health, and I draw from multiple counseling methods to create a style that fits each client’s needs. My goal is to make therapy feel encouraging and practical, while offering a space where clients feel both supported and challenged to grow.

I know what it is like to feel as though you have to fight through life alone, and I do not want others to have to carry that weight by themselves. I strive to be the person who can walk alongside my clients, help them see their strengths, and encourage them forward even when the path ahead feels uncertain. Counseling provides a place to slow down, sort through what matters, and start building a life that feels more like your own, and I am honored to be part of that process.

When I am not in sessions or classes, you can usually find me with a cup of coffee in hand, running, weightlifting, or exploring the outdoors. I aim to live out the same values I bring to therapy: balance, growth, and being intentional with how life is lived.
